The Nacon Revolution X Pro Controller is a very good alternative to the Xbox Elite Series 2 and for 60 euros less! Of course, it is not wireless, but with a 3 m (non-proprietary) cable, that’s more than enough! In use, the controller has always reacted well and apart from this cable which was dragging a bit as said before, I have no complaints whatsoever on the quality of manufacture or on its reactivity. Admittedly, this is a good audio technology, but in this case and in my configuration, I prefer to play wireless headphones or on my speakers. The Dolby Atmos present on the controller and which is activated if you plug a headset into it didn’t particularly jump out at me. Obviously, these buttons are optional, but they are ideally placed to want to use them without having to take the hand. Moreover, we find a grip to prevent it from escaping us and to enjoy long sessions on weekends.Īlso interesting about its design, the buttons on the back are not paddles like on the Elite and thank goodness! I never managed to find my way around with 4 palettes, whereas here we have 4 very distinct buttons where the fingers go naturally. The buttons are slightly bigger than on a classic controller and it helps on the general grip. The sticks have a good stroke, I found them to be very responsive. Apart from this detail, I took advantage of the controller on Street Fighter, Kena or Star Wars Squadrons type games (and a little FPS, but I prefer the mouse.). I will start by talking about the faults of this controller because it will go very quickly: it is only wired. If you are a demanding or competitive gamer, the controller will be your best bet. The options are many, if not too many for the average person.

We can regret that on the setting of the triggers, it is only software and not hardware as on the DualSense. Despite the complicated side of this setting, there are clear explanations for managing your controller. It is nevertheless possible to configure everything such as the course of the joysticks, that of the triggers, the vibrations, the sound (if you plug a headset into the controller), the mapping of the buttons and of course the RGB part on the right joystick. If we have a basic “pure” profile, we have the possibility of activating 4 profiles to cover most games: You can therefore modify your Revolution X Pro Controller without going to a computer, and the profiles are saved in the controller to avoid reconfiguring them wherever you go with them.

The Revolution X Pro Controller is available at the suggested retail price of 109.90 euros.Īvailable on the Microsoft Store, the application can be installed on PC and Xbox. This makes it possible to offer a controller that is also lighter and faster in input, it is a question of a “latency” of 4 ms. There is also a rigid pouch and a 3 meter cable because this controller is only wired.

An application is available on Windows and on Xbox to be able to manage all these parameters. We have a total of 41 customization options depending on the games and our needs. The Revolution X Pro Controller is intended to be a fully customizable controller for the most demanding players. Nacon, an autonomous subsidiary of BigBen, specializing in gaming peripherals, usually offers us controllers for PlayStation, but after a partnership forged with Microsoft just before the Covid-19, here comes this October 13, a controller for Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, and PC. There's even an option to change the lighting effect on the right analogue stick, which is a really cool - if not particularly useful - feature.Nacon releases this October 13 its official controller for competitive players on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One (and PC): The Revolution X Pro Controller! You can store these presets on the controller itself, or use the pre-programmed profiles that cater for driving games, first-person shooters, fighting games and action-adventure releases. You'll never get the triggers to feel like they do on the PS5 DualSense controller, but it's a start. That's on top of adjustments to the trigger sensitivity, just in case you like your buttons extra squeezy.

Speaking of programming, the Nacon Revolution X has an extensive suite of mapping tools, which are available through the app.įree to download and simple to use, the app lets you fully map the buttons, assign various shortcuts, and even change things like the response curve and dead zone for both sticks. I'm a big fan of the underside buttons, which are especially useful in games like Fortnite, where they can be programmed for building. The shortcut buttons can't be detached like Microsoft's magnetic counterparts, but they're also not as sensitive, which mostly eliminates accidental button presses.
